The L.U.V. L.I.F.E. Cooperative

Motto: The village in action, pooling our resources to make wanted and needed change

The L.U.V. L.I.F.E. Cooperative, also known as Luv Life or The Cooperative, is a business whose ministry is to create networking opportunities for enrolled individuals. Members enroll and pay a fee to share their gifts, talents and skills; find the gifts, talents and skills of others; and participate in a community investment team called a L.U.V. Circle based on their passions. The fees collected are put into a community investment fund called The L.U.V. Fund. The Fund is used to implement action plans created by community members or by The Cooperative.

It is based on the principle of tithing. Not that 10% of your income is required, but that when small amounts of money are added together it makes a large amount of money. With that large amount of money, in the hands of people who care, it can make changes the way a community needs changes to be made without waiting on government permission to do so! In other words, it’s you and me coming together, pooling our money then choosing how, where and in whom that money will be invested.

The L.U.V. L.I.F.E. Cooperative membership site will launch on Human Rights Day, Tuesday, December 10, 2019. This day commemorates the day the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted and proclaimed by the United Nations in 1948. This year it celebrates 71 years. So now I’m sure you’re curious about the name: The L.U.V. L.I.F.E. Cooperative. In breaking all the rules of business, The  L.U.V. L.I.F.E. Cooperative is a double acronym with multiple meanings and lots of words to describe the letters. Why? Because, the name reflects the objective. We simply want people to Love Life.

Who doesn't want to LOVE LIFE? But how many really do? We intend to increase the chances of people being able to "Love life" again OR perhaps for the first time ever. This all starts with L.U.V.

We were created to Love, a very special word that is often misused and whose meaning is often mistaken! When it is spelled as L-U-V its true definition is revealed: “learn ur value” (we’re taking all sorts of liberties over here). When we learn how valuable we are, we treat ourselves better. Then we seek to treat others the way we want to be treated. And we change the world for good!

Two great musicians reflected this concept in their music. Louis Armstrong once extolled some of the simplest beauties we experience and sang, “I think to myself what a wonderful world”. And it truly is! But Sam Cooke… he knew the secret of how it worked between people when he sang, " I do know that I Love you and I know that if you Love me too, what a wonderful world it would be." And it really would!

The letters for L.I.F.E can represent any other word of power. These are the ones I chose: 

L = Learn, Lift, Love, Laugh, Live, Lead, Light, Lean, Liberate, Lighten, Launch, Liven, Listen

I = Inspire, Influence, Illuminate, Instruct, Imagine, Include, Involve, Invent, Improve, Innovate, Implement, Initiate, Ignite

F = Flourish, Fascinate, Facilitate, Flow, Faith, Focus, Fortify, Fun, Free, Fulfill, Friends, Favor, Family

E = Elevate, Energize, Empower, Explore, Excite, Engage, Encourage, Excel, Expand, Exhilarate, Embrace, Exercise, Exude

The ideal is when people have an experience with Luv Life they will get whatever they need, not just what the organization has or wants to give. This will bring back a sacredness to life which will translate to a people who Love life and not only their own. That sacredness and Love will include a general Love of life and the lives of others.

"What the world needs now is Love, sweet Love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of...No not just for some but for everyone" are lyrics that have been recorded by many artists, perhaps most famously, Dionne Warwick. They are even more true now than they were back in 1965 when they were originally released. The L.U.V L.I.F.E. Cooperative endeavors to make it happen.
