Thriving Thursday: The Kind Nine

The Kind Nine It's another amazing day in paradise. Thank you so much for being here. I'm honored you would take the time to find out more about The Kind Nine.  Whenever God invites me to do something, there are times when I embrace it whole-heartedly and there are times when I really don't. When the invitation is to get out and talk to people (this could be cold calling or in the streets), I can be hot or cold. It really depends on what I'm supposed to talk to them about.  When all is said and done, I am more concerned about the impact it has had on my superhero son than what the results of the interactions have been. After being out for several hours and watching him, I am realizing this angle is not for us. So I'm reaching out to people to be kind to this mom whose son has been sent to change the world. And he has, starting with mine! Now it's time to do it for others. Will you help us? I am seeking for nine people who will each invest $500 in our campaign ca

Let's Talk Tuesday: Return On Investment

Return On Investment It's another amazing day in paradise. Thank you so much for being here. There is so much going on. It takes a lot of work to launch a business. But there are even more challenges when you know it's going to change the world.  I'm grateful though. I'm grateful for every step of this experience. And I'm grateful I've been prepared to do it. I'm grateful I don't have to live without fear. I'm grateful I'm choosing to be courageous today. My courage is still being used to ask for financial support. This is the most challenging part for me.  There is a fundraiser on PayPal called The NEW Emancipation Proclamation to generate the funds needed to launch. Anyone who contributes to our campaign is considered a investor.  All investments are entitled to a return. Under the $200 threshold there are gifts. When our investors contribute more than $200 they will still receive gifts but they will also double their money back within the nex

Thriving Thursday: The Circle is Bold!

The Circle is Bold! Today is Thursday, August 18, 2022. It is another amazing day in paradise. Thank you so much for being here. It is an honor to be your host. On Monday, I wrote about coming full circle. Usually that means that you started somewhere, took a journey and ended up back where you started. Wellll... I needed to take another trip around the circle so I could get it all the way right. Now the circle is completely complete and BOLD! Whenever I have thought about hosting a fundraiser, I always want to give back. I don't think about the money that comes in as a donation. I think of it as an investment. And with all investments, there should be a return.  I have an active fundraiser on the PayPal Generosity Network. It is called "Emancipated Parenting" and ends in 2 days, on Saturday, August 20. ( Edited 8.24.2022: The name of the latest fundraiser is called "The NEW Emancipation Proclamation". Here's the link:  https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8MFLRP

August alone has been an epic month already and it's only half over. We are in the last week of a 30 day fundraising campaign called "From Poverty to Prosperity" . I have rewritten the description at least 10 times and it finally says what I feel it should have said all along. Now I'm ready to truly market  it. If you are interested in investing in our future please receive our immense gratitude. We are extremely honored, humbled and grateful. Know that by providing financial support to us, you are also investing in every other person whose lives will be touched by the business we're building, namely L.U.V. Enterprises. Motivating Monday (On Friday): From Poverty to Prosperity

From Poverty to Prosperity Today is Friday, August 5, 2022. It is yet another amazing day in paradise. Thank you so much for being here.  This post is connected to the PayPal Fundraiser of the same name. To give you a little history, my name is Kara Lynn Sanders. Most people know me as Kai or Momma Kai. I have the honor, pleasure and privilege of being the mom of a vibrant, dynamic, charming, intelligent, Loving, handsome, beautiful and liberated young Black male superhero.  We have been without stable housing for the last 3 years. At some point in our journey God told me not to take it personal. I needed to pay attention because He needed me to learn some things. It has been a wild ride, "OH the stories I could tell!" But I'm grateful God chose me and I chose Him because here we are today. I recently completed my parent coach training with the Jai Institute for Parenting. It is a compilation of the lessons I learned in class and the information God directed me to "

Motivating Monday (on Wednesday): Where We've Been!

It's Time To Rise Where We've Been It's another amazing day in paradise. Thank you for being here (potentially again). I'm so excited and grateful to share a little bit about where we've been. This entry could be long so I'm going to direct you to an entry I posted a little more than a year ago called "Portraits of Our Poverty" . It will give you a good idea of where we've been. Even if you don't read the post, the pictures will speak to you. The date on the title of the blog post is actually wrong. It's NINE months off! It says November but it was written in February. I decided not to fix it. Perhaps that will give you a glimpse into my state of mind back then! Right now, I want to give you some of the highlights of the last 3 years. In case you missed it, on Monday, I wrote about Where We're Headed . On Tuesday, I wrote about Where We Are Now . Today it's about some of the lessons I've learned based on where we've been. Th

It's Time To Rise Where We Are Now It's another amazing day in paradise. Thank you for being here. If you have been led here by Monday's post you are interested in finding out more about our current situation. Thank you for continuing to invest your time to learn about us. If found this post and have not read the one that precedes it, you can find it here .  I'm going to stick with bullet points because there is so much I could say. Here is a brief overview of the last 6 months or so: In January 2022, Mom received a scholarship to attend the Jai Institute for Parenting to become a parent coach. I am about 7 weeks from completing the program.  Mom has two practicum clients. Mom signed on with NC State as an independent contractor, working with members of the Psychology Department as a parent advisor on a project for the state of NC. My expertise as a parent who has endured homelessness with a young child is being used to create an early childhood education program for fa

Motivating Monday: Caravan of L.U.V.

Caravan of L.U.V. Welcome and welcome back. It's another amazing day in paradise. Thank you so much for being here. For those who don’t know me, my name is Kara Lynn Sanders. Most people know me as Kai. I have the absolute privilege of being the mom and student for a young Black male superhero who is 6. The name God gave him is Wisdom. He is my heart beating outside of me. If you know him, you LOVE him. I often say he is the most Loved child ever. Thank you for investing your time with us a little longer if you're looking for more information based on the video I sent. Here's what I'm looking to achieve. My imagination has given me a scene. This is important to me because Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is everthing". Not too long ago, I wrote a blog post about it. I'm reaching out to you to help me bring this scene to life. My son and I have been panhandling for the last 2 weeks to make a conscious, consistent move out of poverty. We are about half way

Motivating Monday (on Saturday): Imagination

Imagination Welcome and welcome back. Today is Saturday, March 5, 2022! It's another amazing day in paradise. Thank you so much for being here. I have so much on my mind. Enjoy the journey! Now... Imagination...  Recently, parts of this quote by Les Brown have been replaying over and over inside my head:  "If you want a thing bad enough to go out and fight for it, to work day and night for it, to give up your time, your peace and your sleep for it. If all that you dream and scheme is about it, and life seems useless and worthless without it, and if you'd gladly sweat for it and fret for it and plan for it and lose all your terror of the opposition for it, and if you simply go after that thing that you want with all of your capacity, strength and sagacity, faith, hope and confidence, and stern pertinacity, if neither cold, poverty, famished and gaunt, sickness or pain of body and brain can keep you away from a thing that you want, if dogged and grim you beseech and beset it

Motivating Monday: Be Wise

Be Wise Welcome and welcome back. It's another amazing day in paradise. Today is Monday, 2.14.2022. Happy Monday. A belate Happy Black Love Day (2.13). For those who celebrate Happy Valentine's Day. Thank you so much for being here.  If it's your first time, my name is Kara Lynn Sanders (bonus points if you pronounce my first name correctly). Most people know me as Kai (rhymes with hi, sky and bye). That's also the name I use to introduce myself. And yes, Monday is my favorite day of the week. I have the highest honor ever to be a mom. Being a mom is my career. I am blessed have given birth to a phenomenal young Black male superhero who is 6.  When I was pregnant the name God gave him was Wisdom. I laughed. Who wouldn't? That's a huge name to live up to and I would have to be the one who did the work to get him there.  But then God said, "his name isn't going to be Wisdom for what he will learn but for what he will teach". The child growing in my s

Motivating Monday (on Tuesday) - Now and How

Now and How Welcome and welcome back! Today is Tuesday, February 8, 2022. It's another amazing day in paradise.  This is a continuation of the post called Solutions . Here I'm going to talk about why the time is now to launch and how you can get involved (because you definitely want to). February is the time. It is a VERY special month.   God has set it apart to launch L.U.V. for several  reasons.   Here they are:  1. February is Black History Month. T o celebrate  Black History Month   we are creating  Black history.  2. February is also the home of National Black Love Day . It is held every year on Febraury 13. This year it's on a Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday. That day will mark 29 years since its inception!  The five tenets and fours goals of Black Love Day are one of the pillars L.U.V. Enterprises stands on. The Global Theme for this year is "Finding Spiritual Joy Through Black Love". I encourage you to check out the website above to join the founder, Sekou Mama
