This Is How We Homeless -
The Emancipated Parenting Curriculum

Chapter 1: The Guts and the Glory
Section A: The Guts Continued - The Emancipated Parenting Curriculum

Welcome and welcome back 👋🏾! It's another amazing day in paradise 🤩. Thank you so much for being here. And please excuse me for yesterday (my social media posts) and the day before (my blog). I'm building this plane while flying it.

I'm just so excited to be on the side of launching a business having my first ally (what I call the participants) pay for my services, that I'm realizing that I don't have everything together (YIKES!). So bear with me because there's a lot going on over here.

Despite all the commotion, I can see how God ordered my path to help me see this is the way for me to go. It's so beautiful how, looking back, I can see how the dots connect and the picture is magnificent.

Thank you to Sarah Fui for that analogy. She was quoting Steve Jobs in one of her Renaissance Achiever podcast episodes. He said you can only connect the dots looking back. Unfortunately I don't remember what episode it was because I was binge listening. I will add here that I'm Episode 13 (wink, wink, smile)!

Before I go forward, I want to delve a little bit into my use of ally. As I mentioned, I call the people who will participate in this experience along with me my allies, not my clients. And our groups are called Alliances. Because we are in this together.

We are coming together to change ourselves in order to change our personal worlds, which will change the greater world we all share. You already know the Mahatma Ghandi quote, "Be the change you want to see in the world." The BIG change we want to see IN THE WORLD is children being treated as humans, as equals, not less than because of their size and/or age. The main change is how WE, personally, individually and collectively do it!

Now I want to jump in and talk about what happens once you sign up. If you're unsure if this is for you we can have a Collaboration Call to see if we're a good fit. If you're ready to jump in, you pay then we have the call.

With your commitment comes an assignment: to keep a gratitude journal. That's where the emancipating part begins. You're going to start to engage your brain's ability to change (which is called neuroplasticity) by focusing on what's good in your life. My personal challenge is to express gratitude for the personal challenges.

You'll get all the details in a welcome email. This opportunity begins before our first gathering and continues throughout the experience. There is accountability.

Moving on to the actual 12 week experience, I am using the curriculum from the Jai Institute for Parenting. It is the program I went through. Their course is called "Transformational Parenting: Ultimate Parent Success Course". And I am so honored to use it to get started.

It's an intense 12 weeks. The way I'll use it will change in time. But the way I went through it changed my life in so many ways, on so many levels. I don't dare say I've arrived because this is a journey not a destination. I'm not done learning.

I just know I'm so much better than I ever was. And I've gained so much insight into others too. Once you understand how science applies to everyone you get it. You begin to "get" people, not from a judgment standpoint, from a nervous system standpoint.

That doesn't make what some people do OK, it simply helps me have an idea of why they did what they did. Then I can CHOOSE how I want to respond. Because I know how to navigate my own nervous system, I can move forward with kindness. I truly believe my ultimate responsibility is to convert people to seeing parenting as a career of kindness.

In order to do this the curriculum is as follows:

Week 1: Get to Know Your Allies

Week 2: Setting Your Intentions as an Empowered Parent

Week 3: The 10 Pillars of Transformational Parenting

Week 4: Making Sense of Attachment Science

Week 5: Making Sense of Nervous System Science

Week 6: Making Sense of Mindsight and Brain Science

Week 7: Making Sense of Emotional Intelligence

Week 8: Empowered Conversations

Week 9: The PEACE Process

Week 10: Exploring Anger and Healthy Aggression

Week 11: Playful Parenting and Storytelling

Week 12: Reflection Session About Your Personal Transformation

Every week there are videos to watch and reflection pages to complete. The gatherings are scheduled for 90 minutes with the core being 60 minutes. And the heart work is probably another 60-90 minutes, depending on how long you take. That's a 2-3 hour per week commitment to self improvement, in a way that has infinite returns.

There are also one-on-ones. Depending on what level of involvement you want to invest in you either get weekly one-on-ones for a deeper level of coaching. Or you will get 3: one before we get started, one after the first 6 weeks and the last one after our gatherings are done.

I'm excited because I've been there. I went through the course starting in January 2022. It's 6-7 months of weekly meetings, longer if you have holidays. And it is the very best thing I've ever done in my life. I'm not a master yet but I am definitely in my zone of excellence with parent coaching. Again something I learned while binge listening to the Renaissance Achiever podcast, I remember the episode this time.

And that's where I'm going to leave it for now. I'm so grateful for this awakening state I'm in. There's a lot going on. There's been a lot going on. The best is yet to come. I hope you'll join me on this exhilarating ride. Thank you again and in advance. Enjoy the amazing day you're creating. Peace...
