This Is How We Homeless - Introduction to Parenting
The Chronicles of The Emancipated Momma
Introduction to Parenting
Section A: The Guts Continued - Introduction to Parenting
Welcome and welcome back. It's another amazing day in paradise. Thank you so much for being here. This is such a fascinating time in my life. There is so much going on. And I'm so grateful to be discovering my niche (which I thought I knew but it is getting more and more specialized).
It also makes me more and more frustrated at the same time because God is really calling me to do things that a few years ago would have been WAAAAYYYY outside of my comfort zone. I'm not saying that today's message is within my comfort zone. I'm just saying I can't afford to be quiet. The price of my silence is too high to pay.
That's quite the introduction, right? Well... I'm putting the launch of Emancipated Parenting on pause for a moment because I realized there has to be some preliminary work done before I can even begin to share the information that's in there.
I'm am shocked and discouraged and saddened by the amount of people who discount God as THE Master Scientist. For some reason the moment I start talking about the brain to those who are most vocal about being Christian, it's like they can't grasp that God has inspired men and women to discover how the brain works in child rearing or in their own human behavior.
These same people have bodies and eat food. And if they eat food the waste from that food has to come out somewhere. The majority of these individuals I believe wash their bodies with soap and brush their teeth. Perhaps a few go to doctors, dentists, physical therapists or counselors. Maybe there are some that even take medicine. They might also use technology like a bus or car or cell phone or television.
What's funny, fascinating and sad is ALL of that is science. The way all of that works is science. Our own bodies are science experiments. We take for granted HOW our bodies work because we simply expect them to. But there is a system at work inside of us that is based on science. And that system starts with the brain. The main function of the brain is to keep us alive.
If you believe that God created man, then He is a scientist. If you believe that God created the universe, then He is a scientist. If you believe that God is a God of order, then He is a scientist. He is also The Creator, The Architect, The Most High, The Heavenly Father, etc. and so forth. But first, He is The Master Scientist because all things are built upon science.
Knowing this, my greatest challenge is I get so thrown off by people who try to dismiss science that I'm instantly triggered and I get defensive. So God is calling me to address the things that aren't being addressed. Most people probably know that I believe in God. That's the simplest way I can put it.
To go a little deeper, I get a emotional thinking about the deep abiding faith and Love I have in Him. I call God my "Big Daddy" and I'm His "Baby Girl". We have the best relationship that has only become stronger because of how majestically He manifests His Love for me! I LOVE my Heavenly Father.
Wisdom and I have only made it this far in our journey because of our faith and trust in Him and His Son, my Savior and older Brother. It always makes my heart feel free whenever I hear Wisdom say, "Look at God!" because something unexpected happened in our favor. The Spirit guides us throughout every moment of every day.
I'm so honored we are trusted by Him to live up to who He sees us to be. I know I'm doing something right when Wisdom asks me if He Loves God more or me more and I say "God". He always smiles and tells me I'm right! YEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!
I'm so excited to be a parent coach and share what I know with others. I just never would've imagined how challenging it would be to share with people of faith. I'm shocked by how many people are so stuck on believing that God condones His children being mistreated. I'm so horrified and offended by this idea that physical punishment AKA hitting, slapping, popping, whipping... whatever you want to call it... is acceptable before God. It totally disgusts me and I am horrified by this thought process.
Despite my faith in God, I don't go to church any more because I have heard more than one pastor talk about corporal punishment, either directly or indirectly, without condemning it and saying it is wrong. I feel most glorify it. One pastor I addressed truly believes that some children need to be knocked around. Instead of seeing that it's them being knocked around that has caused them to be out of control. He himself included.
That's why I'm going upstream. I realized that before I can talk about how to parent in a developmentally appropriate way I've got to talk about what Jesus said about children. Because it's really interesting to me that no one quotes what Jesus said about children in the New Testament. They only reference "the Bible" or the poem about spare the rod.
So we're going to talk about that. We're going to talk about how God recognizes feelings and emotions and science and parenting and all that stuff. And we're going to discover together how God is The Master Scientist in a 3-part Masterclass called Introduction to Parenting: The Sacred, The Scientific and The Secular.
On Thursday, June 19th, 2025, 160 years after the last slaves were freed in Galveston, TX I will host the first in this series of three masterclasses called Jesus vs the Bible: Which Do You Worship?. I will be hosting these experiences through the end of June and all of July. Some will be hosted live or virtual in one day. Others will be virtual over 3 day and 3 week periods.
We're going to start by talking about what the Bible says about children and what Jesus says about children. And we're going to lay the foundation for how children should really be treated because we're going to look at them through the eyes of God.
Then the other two parts will cover:
I'm excited and a little nervous (to be transparent) on leading the way to great clarity on how God feels about children. We're not just any children, we are ALL His children no matter the age. This will pave a pathway for children AND adults to thrive.
I know there are so many adults suffering from religious trauma. I'm one of them. I imagine some suffer because of the adult(s) who beat them and mistreated them with mental, emotional and physical abuse all while worshipping God 1-7 days a week and listening to gospel music.
Violence, abuse... they don't lead people to God. God is Love and Love is what leads people to God. That is where I come in bringing a message of God's Love for His children, especially as a Father with a Son.
To attend all three virtual sessions the investment is only $111. If the one day option speaks more to you then the investment is a little bit more at $135. You can find all this information on the form.
If you would prefer to support the work I'm doing by helping those who might not be able to afford the Emancipated Parenting experience, please check out the form and contribute how you feel compelled. Thank you again and in advance. Enjoy the amazing day you're creating. Peace...
