Motivating Monday (ON MONDAY) - Solutions
Solutions
Welcome and welcome back! It's another amazing day in paradise. Happy Monday 2.7.2022. It's my favorite day of the week. Thank you so much for joining me.
Whoooooosa (taking a deep breath)... Where do I start? I'm completely thrilled and a little overwhelmed but extremely grateful. God is just so good!
Please excuse the silence. God has been working on me. I'm so honored to be a vessel for His work. During the month of January, I struggled to know what direction I was supposed to go in.
God gave me clarity when He said, "your gift is parenting". Since I know parenting is the problem and parenting is the solution that was the direction I needed. Now I can say to you, "L.U.V. Enterprises Presents Solutions!"
Whenever you are being counseled about starting a business, the question you have to ask yourself is "what is the problem I'm providing a solution for?". Whatever you have to offer must solve a problem or meet a need. L.U.V. Enterprises Presents Solutions for the most challenging situations.
For instance...
Q. What's the solution to ending poverty?
A. L.U.V. Enterprises Presents The NEW Emancipation Proclamation. Yes, that's what it is called. This time we're going to get it right though. Our mission is simple: "reconciling the past to design the future".
The original Emacipation Proclamation went into effect on January 1, 1863. Next January makes that 160 years ago. Yet slavery and the affects of it still exist! WHY?
Because the worst thing about slavery wasn't the conditions the slaves were living in, even though that was horrifying. The worst thing about slavery was the mental, spiritual and emotional conditioning that kept the people enslaved. That same conditioning exists today and it's time for a change.
Dr. Stephen R. Covey understood this when he quoted Ezra Taft Benson in his international best seller, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. Benson said, "The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from the outside in. The world would take people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of people, and then they take themselves out of the slums. The world would mold men by changing their environment. Christ changes men, who then change their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature."
The NEW Emacipation Proclamation (EmanProclam for short) combines what the world does (take people out of the slums) and what Christ does (take the slums out of the people) to give individuals and families the best chance for success.
We use the parable of the Exceptional Samaritan as the instruction manual for how things need to get done. After all, at the conclusion of the parable Christ did say, "Go, and do thou likewise" (Luke 10:37). So we will!
Let's continue...
Q. How do you end homelessness?
A. L.U.V. Enterprises Presents Pay What You Can Housing. The examples have already been set to show this can and will work. Mainly, Jesus paid it all and we offer what we can.
There is a collection of restaurants around the country that form "One World Everybody Eats". A Place At The Table is part of that collection as Raleigh's first and only "Pay What You Can" restaurant. That means, "no money, no problem". Pay what you can!
We can do the same to end homelessness. Putting people in homes ends homelessness. Obviously it's not that simple. There's got to be more to it. But that's a dang good start, so much better than what happens in organizations across the country. Paired with the NEW Emacipation Proclamation you have a winning combination.
