Will You Believe in L.U.V.?
Today you can learn about what the word L.U.V. means.
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
[38] This is the first and great commandment.
[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
"Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”
In order to move from fear to faith there has to be some action on our part. Ms. Williamson begins to close the quote by saying "as we let our own light shine". I've never read the book so I don't know if she gives further guidelines on how to do that. This meaning for L.U.V. gives you some direction on where to start.
1. Honoring your God/Goddess means acknowledging your greatness even if it's still in hiding. To often we acknowledge what we think is greatness but rather is a force for continuing negative, harmful paradigms and the behaviors they unleash. Greatness unleashes goodness. And that is what God/Goddess within is yearning to release IN you to eventually exude FROM you.
2. Reverencing your God/Goddess means protecting yourself from unnecessary outside influences. There is so much we are subject to just by being a part of the world. When we are in the sanctuary of our homes we have the right and power to choose what impacts us.
We should do all we can to, as Og Mandino once wrote, "use wisely your power of choice". He continues by giving us some guidelines for those choices:
Choose to love. . . rather than hate.
Choose to laugh. . . rather than cry.
Choose to create. . . rather than destroy.
Choose to persevere. . . rather than quit.
Choose to praise. . . rather than gossip.
Choose to heal. . . rather than wound.
Choose to give. . . rather than steal.
Choose to act. . . rather than procrastinate.
Choose to grow. . . rather than rot.
Choose to pray. . . rather than curse.
Choose to live. . . rather than die.
3. Nurturing your God/Goddess is the third and final component to manifesting that light within. All the things previously mentioned as well as being mindful of what we watch, hear, say and eat will nurture and nourish that greatness that we are all destined to gift to the world.
While the definition is about how we regard others, the way it is explained here gives us a foundation for how we first apply it to ourselves. This is necessary to fulfill the way the quote by Ms. Williamson ends when she writes, "we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same". That's why #spreadLove #spreadLUV #goglobal #willyoubelieveinLUV are the objectives.
